Hardcore producer Phenex grew up in Sweden and Germany with an avid interest in hardcore. He started producing hardcore with a great passion, initially releasing his songs on the internet in an attempt to reach out to people all over the world. In 2008, he (together with vocalist Le Kat) released "So Naive" for free, which grew popular over night, and as a result securing himself a spot on Nukleuz' "Hardcore Nation" album series. Supported by major hardcore producers, DJs and label owners, he has since come to be featured on the "Hardcore Underground" album series and with a list of strong upcoming releases is actively pushing new talent from Sweden, making sure that the land of the midnight sun takes its place in the wider scene.

Hardcore Underground presents: 2010

Hardcore Underground presents: 2010Following hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed ‘Hardcore Underground 4′ album comes the first in a new line of projects: ‘Hardcore Underground Presents: 2010′. This compilation sees us team up with three of Hardcore’s most exciting and active brands to bring you a triple CD packed full of cutting edge music and stylistic variety.

Hardcore heavyweights Brisk & Ham (Next Generation Records), Sharkey & Kevin Energy (Bonkers, Freeformation, Nu Energy) and Notorious Vinyl innovator DJ Marc Smith have all signed up alongside HU’s own Fracus and Darwin to deliver to you an unmatchable collection of upfront music. It’s 2010 and the future starts now…

Crush On Hardcore: TATWCVOUT NOW!

Download your free copy of the new album today!

ImageAfter several weeks of delays, forced artwork alterations and various technical issues, our most exciting project to date is finally out — which, in Crush On Hardcore terms, means free to download. Go get it.

Over the course of the last 3 years, Crush On Hardcore has been receiving massive amounts of praise and support from the hardcore community all over the planet. COH has given DJs a platform to properly showcase not just their own work, but also a wide range of sounds from both established and up-and-coming artists, consistently raising the bar and ultimately combining two seemingly distant worlds of professional and free of charge into one fascinating series.

The Album That Was Called V is more creative then the name would suggest. It balances musical art and a fresh approach to the concept of a hardcore album. TATWCV is filled with a pleasant variety of music styles, masterfully mixed by Cube::Hard, Shanty, Jnks + Swoosh & DJ RX + Carbon Based. Download the album here — the package consists of 3 full-CD high-quality mixes, cue files for easy splitting or burning and high quality printable PDF artwork. Totally and completely free.

Vengeance Producer Suite — Metrum

0

The Vengeance team has come together with Keilwerth Audio to bring you this year’s kick synthesizer. It’s based on layering and mixing various drumsamples together and putting them through effects to give you a totally new kickdrum. The marketing focuses on creating a kick that suits your track, rather than the other way around. The plugin should be released this weekend and co-creator Manuel Schleis has announced on his forum that the cost of this plugin will be around €100-€150 (~£90-£135).

I think it looks rather promising, but I’ll wait to judge until I’ve actually had the chance to sit down and try it out. What do you think about this? Is this the tool that all producers have been looking for, or is this only going to be an expensive way to do what your DAW already does out of the box?

This video goes through the basic concepts of what the VST is all about. Enjoy!

Found this little tutorial on YouTube through HardcoreProducer. Made by Mark Breeze from the legendary Styles & Breeze duo. If you have seen their Computer Music feature, you’ll recognize the plugin used; it’s the classic OhmBoyz delay from the french VST-creators Ohm Force. Enjoy this high-definition video:

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
